When the Church Prays

Do you know someone who is in a rough place? Someone who needs help?

The Bible talks about someone who didn't know what was going to happen the next day. The person I am talking about is Peter. Peter was put in prison for doing what was right. Peter was doing the right thing, but being punished for it. In our Christian walk you and I will experience consequences for doing what is right. When this happens what can the church do to see a breakthrough?

The Bible says that Peter's church did not sit around and wait for something to happen. Instead the church prayed to see something happen. The Bible says "So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him." (Acts 12: 5). This phrase the church was earnestly praying can mean prevailing prayer, repeated prayer, there is the sense of urgent and pleading with God.

When our brothers and sisters are in trouble do we take the time to pray earnestly before God? The story continues to say that Peter, through the aid of an angel escaped the prison. This was a miracle. In fact, when Peter went to the house where the church prayed they couldn't believe it! Next time you or someone you know is in trouble, PRAY AND SEE GOD do somtething great!
